Keswick Island is located within the turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, 32km off the coast of the city of Mackay – Queensland.
Take a look at how it looks like at the arrival, watch the 10 sec video below.
It is a “natural wonderland – a world of national parks and tropical rainforests, fringed by white sands and a coral reef bursting with vibrant marine life”.
Furthermore Keswick is the last island in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef – one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World – that has planning approval for a large-scale development and is possibly the last substantial marina that will be approved in the region.
According to the Keswick Island official website it was possible to participate in the long term growth of this unique asset but, as reported by the Australian Financial Review, it seems that now the island could be entirely sold by the current owner (Keswick Developments, which is headed up by Edward Dawson-Damer) for about $30m.
