How to feel like lying in a hammock all year long (if you do not already live in Maldives)? Check it out…

Read on! Especially the ones not still aware of today’s celebration, please be informed that July the 22nd – today – actually is the “Hammock Day of the Year”.

In order to celebrate this Hammock Day it seems appropriate to show how it is possible – and even desirable – to feel like lying in a hammock all year long. Spending time in Maldives or not. Or not alway at least.

Let’s discover 3 top-level workarounds for who is keen to live unique hammock  experiences at home, every day of the year.

1. For the “in-door lovers” the best solution selected has been crafted by the Splinter Works design studio. They developed a hybrid hammock and bath, which is named «Vessel». It is unusual bath hanging down from the two opposite walls and made of carbon fiber.

“Struck by the synergy between the shapes of two compelling symbols of relaxation, a hammock and a bath tub, we were inspired to develop a piece that would provide the ultimate vehicle for total escapism” – Miles Hartwell, Co-founder of Splinter Works

It’s available in black, red, pink, yellow, blue, bronze and silver with the following additional features: draining of the vessel through a wetroom floor and a floor-standing tap.

Amazing.

2. For the “out-door-but-not-too-much lovers” an interesting option could be «the Wave», that is perfect for a garden or even a terrace.

The Wave has been created by Belgian company Royal Botania  and it is a luxury hammock designed to transform all preconceived ideas about what a hammock should look like BUT absolutely not about how a hammock should make you feel.

Worthy.

3. Finally, for the “out-door ultra lovers” a nice advice is to take a look at the «Cocoon Tree» – see below.

As from the designers’ description it is a 3 meters diameter spherical structure in aluminium covered with a resistant waterproof membrane design to hang up on trees or placed on the ground with its adaptable feet.

It can serve as a hammock (obviously), a cottage, a spa, a room in your backyard, a meditation place, a pop-up hotel, a floating experience on water and many more.

Watch the 1 min video below to appreciate the multiple ways it allows to be fully surrounded by pure nature.

Brilliant!

Except for the only one problem designers point out on the website: being awakened early in the morning by the sound of birds that you will now have as neighbours…
